Journey to the Center of The Vessel

The Vessel at Hudson Yards in New York City is one of the city's most recognizable architectural landmarks, and a place that immediately caught my attention as a photographer. Having moved to the Hudson Yards area for a couple years, I’ve always been fascinated by its appearance. Its striking symmetrical design creates an endless variety of perspectives, making every angle feel unique and inviting a closer look.

Having spent some time photographing it, I found myself captivated by the way light and shadow transformed its appearance throughout the afternoon. The warm reflections, geometric lines, and repeating patterns created compositions that constantly evolved as the sun continued to set. It was an inspiring reminder to myself of how architecture and natural light can work together to create something truly dynamic. The display of various flags of many countries was definitely a nice touch in promoting the FIFA World Cup, almost symbolizing the interconnection between our international neighbors. I would highly recommend to anyone currently or planning on visiting the NYC West Side to visit The Vessel, especially those with an appreciation for design, photography, or simply seeing New York from a different perspective.
